The silent rhetoric, or rhetoric tacens of art, includes linear perspective.
However, Ptolemy used perspective in his third method of cartography. This
third method of cartography was actually chorography. Chorography is typically
used for rhetoric, showing class strata. However, Ptolemy used this third
method showing perspective in a non-Cartesian coordinate system (the Cartesian
coordinate system has not yet been "invented").
